Bronwyn isn’t have an easy time after moving from Toronto, to the Country. When she discovers that her class is going to
do a Medieval unit in school, she dreams that this
will save her from her loneliness. As
her family is involved in a Medieval Society, this is the area she feels most
comfortable. In her excitement to reveal
the interesting things that make her who she is, she blurts out that her
parents are King and Queen of Ealdormere. Oh, they are, but the rest of the class
doesn’t know that. What follows is the
very worst, most horrible wretched day of Bronwyn’s life. Even Heather, who wants to be her friend, is
thwarted at every attempt by the teacher, Mrs. Sharnlock. What is it they say? The darkest hour comes just before the
dawn. Something happens to set things
right. Something that Mrs. Sharnlocks class will never forget.
This play is designed for children, and ideally, would be a great
school play-specifically for middle school.
It would also be something to consider incorporating into your Medieval
Unit.
